I was looking through some old files when I stumbled across this little helpful tutorial I drew up for a friend who was having trouble drawing canine muzzles and head shapes. I was going to delete it at first, but then thought that some of you might find it useful.

Basically i'm trying to show the simplified structure of the head using circles and rectangles. The 'box' for the muzzle is slanted as the bottom jaw (of most canines) is shorter than the top jaw. Circles can also be used to plan the placement of ears. Simplifying your characters into basic shapes helps you not only plan proportions accurately, but also makes drawing in general ten times easier!
Basic shapes = artist's best friends. Keep this in mind when you start your next drawing. ;)

btw , long time no talk , how you been ?
